Valencia Airport is the main airport for business travellers to Valencia and summer travellers to the Costa Del Azahar . It is situated 9km west of Valencia. The airport has flight connections to about 15 European countries and almost 2.5 million people and 12,000 tonnes of cargo pass through the airport. The airport has one Terminal and two Runways , although the shorter runway 22 is rarely used as it has no ILS and has a Helipad at the southwestern end, the reason why there is no runway 04. Valencia airport is situated on the A3 highway which connects Valencia with Madrid , as well as being close to the A7 , to Barcelona and into France. It is also well served by public transport. It is connected to Valencia by a regular bus to the city centre, which takes 45 minutes, and the local train line (C-4) runs every 20 minutes. Also, there are plans to extend Valencia’s metro system out to the airport. It is the main base of Iberia ’s regional carrier, Air Nostrum AIRLINES & DESTINATIONS In addition to those listed below, there are several charter flights during the summer from various European countries.
