Horace Jenkins

Undrafted after a college career at William Paterson University , Jenkins signed as a rookie Free Agent with the Detroit Pistons before the 2004-2005 season, averaging 2.8 points per game in 15 appearances. Pistons General Manager Joe Dumars had spotted the speedy Jenkins while scouting another playing and brought Jenkins in for a workout.

Jenkins was notable for being the oldest rookie in the NBA, and his life story was the subject of a short presentation narrated by Jamie Foxx on ABC during the 2005 NBA Finals . Jenkins took the long route to the NBA, working to support his family and then playing in Europe before signing his first NBA contract at the age of 29.

In the year of 2005 Jenkins signed a contract in the Israeli team Hapoel Jerusalem .
