George A. Plescia (pronounced "plesha") ( August 19 , 1966 –) is a US Republican politician from California . Plescia was born 1966 in Sacramento, California . He graduated from California State University, Sacramento . Plescia started out working as an unpaid intern for former State Assembly member Bill Morrow in his district office, and after learning the ropes became a paid staff member. George A. Plescia was first elected in 2002 to represent the 75th Assembly District, which covers part of northern San Diego County, California . He is Assistant Republican Leader for the Republican caucus of the California State Assembly , and is expected to be elected Republican Leader. Plescia has sponsored bills concerning transportation, child pornography, and cutting income taxes. While in the legislature, he developed a reputation of being very personable and well-liked by both Republicans and Democrats. Plescia and his wife Melissa Dollaghan live in San Diego .
