Kanbei gave considerable assistance to Hideyoshi in his rise to power, especially during the betrayal of Honnouji . His strategies led Hideyoshi to many victories during his later years. People feared Kanbei because of his percieved great intelligence . Later on Kanbei made an attempt to conquer the region of Kyushu during the Battle Of Sekigahara , but this ended up in failure.
