Ciechanów




Ciechanów (pronounced () is a Town in north-central Poland with 47,900 inhabitants (2002). It is situated in the Masovian Voivodship (since 1999) and was previously the Capital of Ciechanow Voivodship (1975-1998). Before WWII home to a large Jewish community. During the war many Polish Jews and resistance fighters were executed by the Germans in the castle.
