Raf Personnel And Training Command




Personnel and Training Command is one of two operational Commands of the Royal Air Force along with Strike Command . It was formed in 1994 when Support Command was split in two. It has the responsibility for training all members of the RAF, recruiting people into the service, non-operational flying and various careers functions including resettlement, terms and conditions of service in the RAF and welfare of its members. Principally, Personnel and Training Command consists of the Personnel Management Agency and the Training Group Defence Agency .

The Command is headquartered at RAF Innsworth and has a strength of 11,000 RAF personnel 2,000 contractors and 4,000 civilians. The Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Command is dual-hatted in the role of Air Member for Personnel. The Command includes five Support Units of the Defence Logistics Organisation , eight RAF stations, 14 units dedicated to the Air Cadets and University Air Squadron s, three centres specialising in outdoor activities and no less than 27 gliding schools.

The RAF's Process and Organisation Review has concluded that Personnel and Training Command and Strike Command will be co-located at a single command headquarters by 1 April 2008.
