Quiapo is also famous for the Black Nazarene . Thousands of men parade through the streets to touch the statue where it is supposed to produce miraculous effects. A number of faithful usually collapse in a faint during the ritual, and some have even died. ILALIM NANG TULAY (under the bridge) is a famous shopping area under the Quiapo bridge, and has all sort of "good" bargains for the shopper who wants a bargain as well as quality merchandise. Quiapo Day or the Feast Day of the Black Nazarene is celebrated on January 9. |
