Kormisosh

It is said that Khan Kormisosh ruled for 17 years. That probably includes the time that he and Sevar’s shared the throne.
He was the first Kahn from the Ukil (Vokhil) clan after more than 2 centuries of Dulo ’s rule. It is not known if the clan change occurred peacefully or by force.

During Kormisosh’s reign Constantine V Copronymus intensified the campaigns of the Byzantine Em[ire against Bulgaria . He settled Armenians and Syrians in Thrace to serve as a human shield of the empire and begun rebuilding of forts and fortified the border.

In 756 Kormisosh tried to improve the security of Bulgaria by peaceful means through diplomacy. Not succeeding by peace, he undertook his first campaign.
His forces reached the wall between the Black Sea and the Adriatic that lay 40 km before Constantinople . That is where the two armies met. Constantine V Copronymus was victorious and managed in his victory to kill many Bulgarian soldiers.

As a result of the defeat the power changed hands again. The Khan was overthrown and Vinekh was installed at his place.
