Kings Of Tir Eogain




Prior to this, the ruleing dynasty - the Cenél nEógan - were the Kings Of Ailech . During the tenth and eleventh centurys, two main septs within the dynasty emerged; the Mac Loughlainn and the Ó Néill . The latter family pushed aside the Mac Loughlainns, and from 1241 onwards the kingdoms was ruled exclusively by members of the Ó Néill family.
