Imst is a City in Tyrol , Austria with approximately 9,000 inhabitants. It is located at , 55 km west of Innsbruck , and an elevation of about 800 m in the west of Tyrol, on the river Inn . Imst is the capital of the district ('' Bezirk '') Imst . HISTORY (more in German) received the rights of a Market Town in 1282 , and its City Rights in 1898 . SOS CHILDREN'S VILLAGE In Imst the organisation SOS Kinderdörfer SOS Children's Villages was founded in 1949 by Hermann Gmeiner . The first SOS Children´s Village is located in the city´s part of "Sonnberg". |
