The rulers wore the titles ''Grand Princes of Rascia '' since 1166 . After the crowning in 1217 , the full title of the dynasty was ''King of the land of Rascia , Doclea , Travunia , Dalmatia and Zachlumia ''. Althogh, a shorter version of the title was ''King of Serbs ''. Since the crowning for Emperor in 1346 , the title was '' Tsar of All Serbs , Albanians , Greeks and Bulgarians ''.

The family crest was a Bicephalic argent eagle on a red shield, inherited from the Byzantine Paleologus dynasty.
