Han Shizhong




Han Shizhong (韓世忠) ( 1089 - 1151 ) was a Chinese general of the Southern Song Dynasty . He, along with another famous general, Yue Fei , are credited in successfuly protecting China by defending against the Jin Dynasty , an empire located in what is now Manchuria. Although, the Song army are poorly equipped and low in morale, Shizhong is able to rallied the men and launch a counterattack against the Jurchens. He is known to be the first military officer that have use firearms in battle. In the Battle of Huantindang , his 8000 troops defeated 100,000 Jurchens and their allies in just 48 days. He resigned from office as the Emperor of Southern Song proposed peace with the Jurchens and put the great general, Yue Fei to death.
Han Shizhong's wife, Liang Hongyu was also a great warrior who is told to help Shizhong in various battles. She is known for beating the war drums and raising the morale of the sung troops at the battle of Huantindang.
