Raakhee Gulzar

Raakhee Gulzar (born August 15 , 1947 in India ), also known as '''Raakhee''', is an Indian Bollywood actress. Gulzar's career spans from the 1970s to the present.

Her main claim to fame was the 1971 film ''Sharmilee'' starring opposite Shashi Kapoor . She has since starred in many more blockbuster films most notably starring opposite Amitabh Bachchan in ''Kabhie Kabhie'', ''Muqaddar Ka Sikander'', ''Trishul'' and ''Kaalaa Pathar''.

Bizzarely in 1982 she played the mother of Amitabh Bachchan's character in ''Shakti'' which had Dilip Kumar playing her husband.

Towards the 80s and 90s she often played supporting roles usually playing a mother in ''Baazighar'', ''Karan Arjun'', ''Soldier'' and ''Baadshah''.

In . She was awarded the Padma Shri in 2003 .
