Information About

Naevius Sutorius Macro

Macro retained his command on the appointment of Caligula ; it has been claimed that Macro killed the aged and ill Tiberius to ensure Caligula's succession. Suetonius states that he gained favor by prostituting his wife, Eunia (or Ennia), to the Emperor around 34 . He was forced from office in 38 on the orders of Caligula and was either executed or committed suicide. He was replaced as Guard Prefect by Cassius Chaerea .
