''Caveman'' is a 1981 Slapstick Comedy Film , financed by George Harrison , which stars Ringo Starr as a Caveman who applies some modern day ideas in his comical prehistoric adventures. The dialog is almost entirely in "caveman" language, which is very simple and can easily be understood by the audience. The words for basic concepts are all made clear throughout the course of the film: "ool" is food, "zug zug" is sex, "araka" is fire, and so on. The only English dialog is used for comedic effect: it is spoken by an Asian caveman who speaks perfectly but is understood by no one. The story follows Atouk (Ringo Starr) and Lana (played by Barbara Bach ), as well as dinosaurs, an abominable snowman ( Richard Moll ), and several other cavemen and members of their tribe (including Dennis Quaid as Lar). Throughout their adventures they discover drugs, fire (and fried chicken), music, and how to walk upright. EXTERNAL LINKS |
