Asadi's most significant work is ''Garshasp-nama'' Book (or Epic) of Garshasp . His other important contribution was lexicon of Modern Persian language (فرهنگ لغت فرس) written in 1092. During Asadi's time, and for quite some time after that, much of the Khorasan province was under violent attacks and rivalry of various Turkic groups. Many native intellectuals left Khorasan as a result of these conflicts, or they stayed there but lived in seclusion. As a result of such violence and conflicts, Asadi left Khorasan for the Iran ian provice of Azarbaijan (not to be confused with the present-day Republic Of Azerbaijan which was only named ''Azerbaijan'' after World War I ) and stayed there until his death. His tomb is in city of Tabriz . SEE ALSO |
