Ardahan Province is one of the 81 Provinces Of Turkey , situated in the far north-east of the country, on the border with Georgia and Armenia . It was created out of part of Kars Province in 1994 . Neighbouring provinces are Artvin to the west, Erzurum to the southwest, and Kars to the south. The provincial capital is Ardahan . The province covers an area of 5,576 km&2 and has a population of 121,616 (2005).
