PLOT

Earth seems to be have found the perfect ally in their fight against the Goa'uld, the Aschen. However, the honorability of these "saviors" is questioned by a mysterious note that may be from the future SG-1, preventing them from going to the Aschen planet. However, SG-1 inadvertantly goes to the Volian planet, which is occupied by the very people the note was trying to prevent them from meeting.

During the episode, after O'Neill's positive introduction to the Aschen proclaming their willingness to trade, negotiations supported by the President begin. However O'Neill presents mild distrust and on their return trip Daniel (who was taken in by the Aschen in the "prequel" episode ''2010'') and Teal'c dig deeper finding signs of larger cities only a few hundred years old. Where now there is farm land, the Aschen have ploughed over the previous civilisation.
